The last Saturday in February saw a hive of activity at the Conygre Hall in Timsbury, as the Cam Valley Arts Trail Group put on a selection of eight arts and crafts workshops in which the community could take part.

Over forty people took the opportunity to try their hand at a new skill, including willow weaving, Chinese painting, batik, appliqué, modern calligraphy, lino cutting, needle felting, and silver smithing.

The results were breathtaking and we had very many positive comments about the day. Ann Curtis, who ran the needle felting workshop, said: “I’m immensely proud of those who attended my workshop, look what they have produced in only 2½ hours! I’m so happy.”

Alice Prescott, who had made a willow basket, said: “It was a really enjoyable morning. My family won’t believe I actually made this!” And from Claire Ruiz : “Can I just congratulate the art trail for an amazing day. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would certainly try new things again!”

Looking forward, remember to save the date of Saturday, 28th April, when more than twenty artists will be at the Conygre Hall for our annual Spring Exhibition and sale. Alison ter Haar
