On a lovely sunny Sunday morning, Writhlington villagers put on their gloves and high-vis to keep their village clean.

The group was founded after the village got together to fight off a planning application for 160 homes in the village and to help with the Radstock In Bloom entry.

August 25th was the fifth litter-pick, and the number of bags that have been filled has reduced every month. The first litter pick saw twenty bags filled, compared to nine on Sunday.

We have had great support and help from Sean Fletcher and Radstock In Bloom. Sean supplied the grabbers and bags for the rubbish collected.

We will find out in October how Radstock did in the Southwest In Bloom competition.

If you would like to join us on our next one, check for details on the Facebook group: Writhlington Neighbours and Writhlington Action Group. The next one is the last Sunday of the month, 29th September. We meet outside the village hall at 10 a.m.
