A 26-year-old Midsomer Norton mum is hoping to show her children that anything is possible, no matter what your circumstances, as she aims to get back to modelling, despite her life completely changing just over two-and-a-half years ago.

Jade has severe back issues, including a degenerative back disease and herniated discs, and also suffers from a skin condition, which has affected her chances of modelling work.

She says: “Prior to my disabilities, I spent five years working in the TV and film industry, as a support artist, make-up artist and locations assistant, working on productions such as Cranfords, Casualty, War Horse, The Duchess and Misfits.

“I heard about Miss British Beauty Curve when I went to audition for The Ideal Curve Show back in October. This is a campaign to give plus size models more recognition in the modelling industry.

“I’ve been sponsored by two amazing friends who own their own hair salon in Melksham, and between now and October, I need to gain points based on appearances, charity events and press events. The points will get me in the final for the show in October, and I want to make it so badly to show that disability is fine, and is normal for those of us who are disabled. We want to be seen as well!

“I moved to Midsomer Norton just under two years ago, when I met my now husband. I have a three-year-old son and we now have a thirteen-month-old as well. This opportunity could give me a job which I am able to do comfortably and I want to make my children proud also. It’s so important to me to help raise women’s body image, encourage plus size models to make a career and to not be held back by circumstances. Anything is possible!”
