Writhlington villagers may have spotted two keen, young runners recently. Seven-year-old Niamh and five-year-old Aeryn ran a mile a day throughout February to raise money for Bath MIND and have smashed their fundraising target!
The girls’ Mum, Natasha-Jade Evans, told The Journal: “February included Children’s Mental Health Week, and over the past year, many people have suffered with their mental health as a result of various lockdowns, and uncertainties.
“Our children are no different – not knowing when they’re going to be in school or see their friends, or in circumstances like ours, see their family properly again.
“Bath MIND were amazing help in getting the girls to understand what Coronavirus meant for us in the first lockdown, and so the girls wanted to do something to help them.
“They have run a total of 32 miles in 28 days, and so far, have raised £340 out of their target of £100. They have had amazing support from the community!”
