If you are a resident of Westfield, you will by now have received a polling card for a referendum on Thursday, 6th September, in which you will be able to vote for, or against, the adoption of the Westfield Neighbourhood Plan.

Lesley Welch, Westfield Parish Clerk, said: “It’s hard to describe how important the plan is for our community. Our Neighbourhood Plan enables us, the residents of Westfield, to have a very real say in the running and future development of every single part of our community.

“We are all concerned about what goes on around us, what happens to our children, where we can shop, and so on, and the Westfield Neighbourhood Plan was prepared by a large group of volunteer residents over the course of over three years, including in-depth local research to ensure that it really was the residents’ views, wishes and aspirations that formed the plan.

“The plan is so fundamentally important that the Localism Act requires us to vote to accept it in a referendum before it becomes such a significant and fundamentally important factor in the planning process and our future.

“So it is really, really, important to take this opportunity to vote and be part of forming the future of our great neighbourhood.”
