After Thursday night’s lights switch on it was so nice to see the High Street bustling again on Saturday, thanks in no small part to the much anticipated Poundland opening!

I just wanted to say that it was brilliant to see one of the market’s sponsors, Thatcher and Hallam, at a stall, offering a free raffle for items that had been purchased from the market traders themselves. What a lovely thing to do! I hope that my ticket is a lucky one. 

Thanks to all the organisers for their continuing hard work and here’s to Midsomer Norton’s thriving High Street. It seems to be bucking the national trend of decline in local shopping, long may it continue.
