Boules is widely played on the Continent and is now becoming popular locally. It is a fun game, with very few rules, that can be played by all ages and abilities, no sporting prowess needed! As such, it is popular with families, it can also be played by the disabled and the Westfield court has wheelchair access. The Council is hoping that, eventually, a Petanque Club will be formed, so if anyone is interested, would they please contact Diana on: 01761 415155.

Also at the recreation field, a basketball hoop and all-weather table tennis table are being installed for the benefit of young adults. The area is being completely resurfaced and is open to everyone, 365 days of the year, with no pre-booking and, best of all, is absolutely free!

So, come along to the 'Grand Opening' on Sunday, 1st June, between 2 p.m.– 5 p.m. and try your hand.
