Prattens’ Ladies had two Wild League games this week. On Tuesday, the visitors were Street, and in this game, Prattens won on two rinks, lost on one and won overall, 59 shots to 36; Prattens gained ten League points. On Thursday, the visitors were Frome Park and in this game, Prattens won on all three rinks and overall by 48 shots to 34; Prattens gained all twelve available League points.

On Sunday afternoon, Prattens’ Ladies played Frome Park again in the Quarter-Final of the Southey Trophy. This competition involves four bowling disciplines and Prattens won all four and overall. The results were: singles 21 shots to 12; pairs 32 shots to 8; triples 24 shots to 15, and rinks 17 shots to 12. The overall shot difference was Prattens 94, Frome Park 47. The semi-finals of the Southey Trophy will be played on Sunday, 4th September on a neutral Green.

In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies play their last Wild League game of the season against Shepton Mallet, and the Quarter-Final of the Fear Plate Away to Bloomfield (Bath). Prattens’ Men play a Charity Cup competition against a combined Frome Park/Frome Selwood team and there is a Mixed friendly against Trowbridge Town.

Club nights continue on Mondays at 6 p.m. All are welcome to come along and try the game of bowls, just wear flat shoes. Bowls can be borrowed and coaching is available free of charge.
