Oh, wow! What a brilliant time was had by all when we met up at Norwest for our annual Christmas dinner and draw on Sunday.
We were treated to a really superb turkey dinner with all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pud, then cheese and biscuits, all nicely rounded off with coffee and mints,
courtesy of Ann Woodham and her team of Val Padfield, Mary Harston, Ann’s long-suffering husband Ken and chief ‘wiper upper’, Rex Padfield. I know how hard you all worked and the end result was a triumph – a big THANK YOU to you all. Thanks also to all the bar staff who kept the Christmas spirit flowing.
The draw this year was once again a resounding success, with the table groaning under the weight of all the prizes. Thanks to everyone who supplied prizes, especially to AIMS Refreshments Ltd for their boozy donations – some of the first prizes to go! Thanks also to all who supported the draw by buying tickets, I’m sorry that, if like me, you didn’t manage to win anything, but hopefully it will be our turn next year!
This coming Friday will be the last game in the Fish and Chip Skittle League, so as it’s the last game before Christmas it would be a great opportunity to nip along and distribute those last few Christmas cards and have a festive bevvie or two. The atmosphere is usually very convivial, so add in a bit of seasonal cheer and it should be a great evening.
I’m not sure if I will be able to make it, as I’m out for yet another Christmas meal, but I’ll leave some tickets for the Bath 18+ Gateway New Year party behind the bar. If you haven’t quite decided if you want to come yet, let me tell you, you’ll miss a brilliant evening. It’s very relaxed and friendly and this year we will be joined by the Floodlight Charity Bowls Committee, who will be presenting a cheque to the Bath 18+Gateway Club who were their 2015 charity.
So come on, I know you’ll enjoy it, tickets include a buffet. Give me a ring if you want more information or for tickets on: 01761 479310.
