The midweek internal afternoon league came to an end on the last Wednesday in July when, in spite of heavy rain interrupting play for half an hour, everyone seemed to enjoy it.

The evening was rounded off with a barbecue attended by a total of 48 members and guests. This was organized by Carole, who, with the assistance of family members, made it a memorable occasion. Dave Yarlett was thanked for organising this weekly game and might be persuaded to do it again in 2022.

On Saturday, the men played a friendly match against Purnell, which resulted in an honourable draw – losing by two shots on one rink, winning by two shots on another and drawing on the third. Quite entertaining to watch.

Monday evenings continue to be popular and we would still like to welcome some more new bowlers to these. Just turn up after 6 p.m. (wearing flat shoes) and we will do the rest. DN
