Firstly, I must correct a mistake I made last week. The Thanksgiving Service for Ray is at 1.30 p.m., not 1 p.m., at St John’s Church, Farrington Gurney.

The Ladies’ first game was at Chew Stoke. We were short of players for this game, so had to play two triples and one rink. The rink won but the triples both lost, the one because of losing 25% of the score.

The second Ladies game of the week was at Stothert and Pitt, where Stothert got their revenge after we beat them last week eight points to two – they reversed the score and won eight points to two. Both these games were North Somerset League games.

Next week, we have two Mendip League games: Tuesday at Isle of Wedmore, Wednesday at Congresbury, and Thursday an NS League game at Bath. So, Ladies, please make life easier for Captain Sue by getting your names down.

Last Wednesday, our Men played Frome Park in a friendly at home. Frome Park won on all rinks. There was a better result on Saturday, where they played Stothert and Pitt B team and came way with ten points to two. This was a County League game, so well done, lads.

Don’t forget the mixed friendly game against Begbrook Park on Sunday, 26th August, which is a return match as we played on their green in June.

Three Ladies from Fosseway played in the Alexandra Park Bath Triples tournament on Wednesday, and came first out of the sixteen teams entered. They are Carole Jenner-Tims, Janet Andrews and Sheila Davis. Well done girls. Spend the winnings wisely!

Come along and visit our club if you think you might like to try your hand at bowling, there is still a few weeks left of the season.
