The week started off with the Men from Fosseway playing a friendly game against Frome Park, away on Wednesday. The green was quite a challenge and Fosseway came away losing on all rinks.

The Ladies had just a short trip to Norwest on Thursday for their NS League game. The hardest part of this afternoon was trying to get to the green, due to all the traffic diversions. We won on two rinks and lost on one, but won overall by just four shots. Still, we came away with eight of the ten points.

The Men played their last County League game, against Norwest B, but did not manage to win any of the points, by losing on all rinks.

On a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon, the finals of the Centurion Cup were played, this had been postponed due to wet weather from 12th August. The teams were Pat Wallis, Sue Burke and Dave Yarlett, who played Steve Watson, Geoff Moore (who had to play right-handed, instead of his normal left hand, due to surgery) and Carole Jenner-Timms. Carole’s team came out winners after a very good competition.

The Ladies have three league games next week, so will be kept busy, and this will be followed by a mixed friendly against Stothert and Pitt on Saturday.

The season is coming to an end, but still lots of competitions to take place. Still time for new bowlers to come and introduce themselves, ready for the 2019 season. Everyone welcome. Monday night is still club night. Plenty of car park space at the Centurion Hotel, and our club is just behind it.
