Prattens Bowls Club’s Ladies didn’t have far to travel on Wednesday, as they played a Friendly game against Fosseway. Prattens won on all three rinks and overall, 65 shots to 23.
A Mixed Friendly away to Trowbridge Town on Saturday saw mixed results. Prattens won on one rink, drew on one and lost on two; overall Prattens lost 56 shots to 63. On Sunday, Prattens travelled to Frome Park where, in another Mixed Friendly, they fared better; Prattens won on three rinks and lost on one, winning overall 85 shots to 68.
The coming week sees Prattens’ Ladies play their first Wild League game away to local rivals, Paulton, and a friendly game away to Keynsham. Prattens’ Men have their first Somerset County League game at home to Weston Bath B on Saturday. On Sunday, there is a Mixed Friendly game at home to Broughton Gifford.
Club nights continue on Mondays at 6 p.m. All are welcome to come along and try the game of bowls, just wear flat shoes. Bowls can be borrowed and coaching is available, free of charge.
