Prattens’ Ladies were Away to Frome Park in the Wild League this week. In a very close game, Prattens won on one rink, lost on two and lost overall, 51 shots to 52. This meant they gained only two League points.
In the Mixed Mid-Somerset League game Away to Frome Selwood, Prattens gained ten out of twelve available League points as they won on two rinks, lost on one and won overall, 60 shots to 59.
Prattens’ Men played the first round of the National Two rink competition Away to Wells; they won on one rink, lost on one, but lost overall. There was also a Mixed Friendly game Away to Wyrall Park (Glastonbury) in which Prattens won on two rinks, lost on two, but won overall, 76 shots to 64.
In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies are Away to Street and at Home to Frome Selwood in the Wild League. Prattens’ Men are Away to local rivals, Fosseway, in the Mid-Somerset League and at Home to Bloomfield C in the Somerset County League. There is also a Mixed Mid-Somerset League game Away to Frome Park. Sunday sees the first round of the Club Pairs’ competition.
Club nights continue on Mondays at 6 p.m. All are welcome to come along and try the game of bowls, just wear flat shoes. Bowls can be borrowed and coaching is available free of charge.
