The virus strikes again. Unfortunately, Norwest Bowls Club is closed until further notice.
This means no President’s Day and no subs evening. Mary’s a bit upset about the Subs night, as she won’t be raking in all that lovely money, so just make sure you don’t spend it all, as she will be after it when things settle down.
Another downside is that we miss out on our Fish and Chip skittles supper, although I am sure when things get back to normal it will be rearranged and we’ll be glad of an evening out!
In the meantime, what are you all up to with all this spare time?
Well, I decided to write a ‘Bucket’ list. Obviously it’s not full of the wildly exciting things like jumping out of an aircraft, climbing a mountain or swimming with sharks: my list will be tailored to the confined circumstances which the nasty little bug has seen fit to put upon us all.
So, what’s on my bucket list? Firstly, I’m going to venture forth out into the garden and fill the bucket with weeds, after which, I will fill it to the top with some hot soapy water and scrub down the back paving stones.
Next comes more water, this time, with some vinegar in, to give my windows a good wash down so that I can see friends and neighbours out for a walk; all the regulation two metres apart, of course.
Some more soapy water and the car is next in line for a thorough going over, and then maybe I could fill it with some paint and spruce up the garden fence. By this time, Brian is looking decidedly worried, as to what’s next for a wash down, and I am feeling so worn out that I think I will rip the list up, make the coffee and sit in the sun with a good book and the chocolate biccies.
But seriously: to all Norwest’s members, fellow bowlers and friends, keep well and let’s be careful out there. NH
