Can you believe that by the end of next week we will be in February?

It seems incredible how fast January has flown by – except, of course, for those of you who are struggling to stick to your New Year’s resolutions, especially the ones which involve weight and fitness!

In the dark winter days, cutting down on food and getting more exercise is not easy, so why not wait a couple of months, then think again? With spring in sight, its easier to be positive as far as the diet is concerned, and I’ve got the ideal solution for some gentle exercise: yes, it’s bowls!

What could be more pleasant than strolling up and down the green, chatting to friends while you get your exercise? It has to be better than the dreaded gym, with it’s tortuous machines, especially for those of you who are, like me, a bit on the more mature side. So, bear it in mind and watch this space for details of our open evenings in April – who knows, it might be the beginning of a whole new you!

Now a date for your diaries: 23rd March is Subs night. It’s important that members attend this one, as there’s new information which members need to be aware of before the season starts.

Finally, a reminder: Don’t forget, this Saturday, 26th January, it’s Cilla and Clayton’s quiz evening. The doors open at 7.30 p.m. and the quiz starts at 8 p.m. There will be an American supper and a raffle; an excellent chance to get rid of some of those unwanted Christmas gifts.
