AS this extended season comes towards its conclusion, Paulton Bowls Club can look back on a year of progress and development; from the installation of an accessible toilet and improvements to clubhouse interior, to the evolution of the club teams - and they envisage further improvement next season.

The men reached the semi-final playoffs of the MSL and came third in the Somerset Bowls Association County League - the best placing in club memory.

The ladies, in their last league match of the season, were a little disappointed in the result away against Wells. However, they did achieve a fourth place overall, their best ever result in the league and this hopefully foreshadows better results next year as the new members integrate.

The final games this year are a friendly at home against Alexandra Park and the Ladies versus Gents annual competition on the 20th. Meanwhile, the Macmillan coffee morning is on Friday the 18th at 10am (all are welcome). AJ.Meaton
