It has been a busy couple of days for the club, commencing with the Ladies playing a closely-fought match against Keynsham Ladies in the Fear Cup, only to lose by three shots right at the end. Congratulations to Keynsham, well done Paulton and better luck in the Plate.

On Saturday, we played the club Fixed Jack competition qualifying rounds with twenty members taking part. The afternoon was extremely hot, but at half-time – fortified by tea and cakes made by members – the competition resumed with renewed vigour, and the Final will take place on Finals Weekend.

To round off the afternoon, we were treated to an excellent BBQ prepared by our resident chef, Dave Beard (what would we do without him – thanks Dave), and indeed thank you to our Competition Secretaries Diane and Dave Ball, and everyone who helped supplying cake and with the work needed to put on such an event.

On Saturday, the club had a stall at the Paulton Party in the Park event with which was ably looked after by Carol and Ray Mears, together with Pat Stock. They ran a Tombola with all prizes donated by members and friends and 50% of the money raised (£30) has been sent to the RUH Forever Friends Appeal. Thank you everyone who bought tickets, which helped us raise this amount.

If you would like to try bowls, just come along to the club on any Friday evening and you will be warmly welcomed.
