Another full week at the end of the season saw us playing against Prattens at Norwest.
It was an FCC game where we won on three rinks, drew on one and lost the last to take the overall win, leaving one more game in this competition away against Purnell next week.
On Wednesday, in a mixed friendly at home against Fry’s, we won convincingly by 70 shots to 50, whilst on Thursday, the Women’s Team narrowly lost playing away to Street.
Saturday saw the completion of the annual mixed competition against South Petherton for the Petherton Cup, where, after a hard-fought match coming back from a fifteen shot deficit in the previous round, we won on three of the four rinks and by 21 shots to take the Cup this year.
Sunday was the last finals day this year, where Annabelle Curtis won the Ladies’ Singles and Trevor Francis took the Men’s Singles title – well done to both players. Captains vs Presidents will be the last game of the season on Saturday, 14th September, and I hope as many of our members as possible will come to cheer on the teams in this annual final.
