After a slow start to the season, Paulton Bowls Club Ladies have found their form and seem to be getting stronger as the season progresses.
Tuesday last week saw them beat Prattens on two of the three rinks, to win the match overall. They then followed this up by beating a strong Wyrral Park team on all three rinks.
Wednesday saw yet another defeat for Paulton’s Men and with there being no County game, it gives them a break to re-group and try to get some improved results. Their next game is another Mid-Somerset League game, this time against Prattens.
The social side at Paulton continues to be excellent, especially on Friday club nights. Last Friday saw many of the members enjoying a ‘roll-up’, whilst others played in the highly competitive Mike Rees trophy, which gives everyone a chance to win over the whole season. The club also welcomed back Chris Skinner, who has been unable to bowl so far this season. The previous week, Ian Mathison came back from a long illness lay-off and was able to take part. It’s great to see them back!
