Prattens’ Men had another good win in the Mid-Somerset League against Frome Selwood, who are currently second in the League.

Prattens won on two rinks, lost on two and won overall, gaining twelve League points.

In the Wild League, Prattens’ Ladies had an impressive win against Castle Cary, winning on all three rinks and overall by 54 shots to 34, which gained Prattens all twelve League points. However, against Wyrall Park, the Ladies won on one rink, lost on two and lost overall by 35 shots to 63, gaining two League points. Prattens’ Ladies played the next round of the Fear Plate Away to Wells. After a very close game, Prattens lost by one shot on the last end.

A mixed friendly game against Frome Park was abandoned after only three ends, due to adverse weather conditions.

In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies have a Wild League game Away to Shepton Mallet. Prattens’ Men play the next round of the Wedmore Plate at Home to Norwest. There are mixed friendly games, both at home, to Paulton and Fry’s.

Club nights continue on Mondays at 6 p.m. All are welcome to come along and try the game of bowls, just wear flat shoes. Bowls can be borrowed and coaching is available free of charge.
