Congratulations to Prattens’ Ladies who won the Semi-Final of the Fear Plate on Sunday when they played Long Ashton Bowls Club.

Prattens won on two rinks, lost by one shot on the third and won overall, 61 shots to 55. They play in the Final at Ashcombe (Weston-super-Mare) on 18th September. Earlier in the day, Prattens’ Ladies played Portishead RBL in the Semi-Final of the Southey Trophy. Prattens won the singles discipline, but it was a very close game in the other three disciplines, with Prattens eventually losing overall.

Prattens’ Ladies also played Shepton Mallet in their last Wild League game of the season. Prattens won on one rink, lost on two and lost overall, 44 shots to 54, and gained two League points from this game. On Friday, to reach the Semi-Final of the Fear Plate, the Ladies beat Bloomfield (Bath) on all three rinks and overall 73 shots to 33.

The Charity Cup game on Wednesday, against a combined Frome Park/Frome Selwood team, resulted in Prattens’ Men winning on two rinks, losing on three, but coming away with two points from this game. The Men’s game against Bloomfield (Bath) on Saturday in the Somerset County League was conceded by Bloomfield, as they were unable to field a team.

In the coming week, the Ladies play a friendly against Keynsham and the Men have another Charity Cup game against Paulton. At the weekend, the finals of all Prattens Club competitions will be played.
