In the Wild League game at home to Shepton Mallet, Prattens’ Ladies won on one rink, lost on two and lost overall by 34 shots to 46, thereby gaining two League points.
Prattens’ Men played their final, and crucial, Somerset County League of the season against Knowle B. The outcome of the game decided which of the two teams would be promoted as Champions, and which would be Runners-Up. It was a very close game, with both teams taking the lead at various points. Prattens won on two rinks, lost on one, but lost overall by 59 shots to 63; Prattens gained four League points, which means they end the season as Runners-Up in the League. Prattens’ Men also played another Charity Cup game against Norwest, where Prattens lost on four out of five rinks.
In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies have a friendly at home to Keynsham and Prattens’ Men have a Charity Cup game against a combined Frome Park/Frome Selwood team. The Finals of the Club competitions take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Pauline Dando and Chris Love are competing in the Final of the Somerset County Ladies Pairs competition at Taunton Vivary on Sunday, 10th September.
