Purnell Bowls Club held the final event of the 2017 outdoor season last month, with the Annual Dinner and Presentation Evening. Some 63 members sat down to a three-course meal, followed by entertainment by Play It Again Steve.
The main event of the evening was the presentation of the competition winners and runners-up by Club Presidents, Jan Dart and Colin Toogood.
After saying goodbye to the 2017 season, it’s already full steam ahead for the 2018 outdoor season, when the club held its outdoor section enrolment evening last Friday. Existing members signed on for the new season, and enjoyed cheese and wine together with several new members, who were welcomed to the club.
With Ladies’ and Gents’ pre-season meetings arranged, and the first games arranged for Saturday, 14th April, the club looks forward to a full programme of league and friendly matches for ladies, gents and mixed formats.
