In the Ladies league, on Tuesday at home against Street, the women won only one rink and therefore gained only two of the twelve points available. While on Wednesday evening the men played away at Purnells, in the MSL, winning overall and well on two of the three rinks, however, in the County league on Saturday away at Weston, we came close on only one rink and eventually succumbed, on all the very fast rinks to their A team.

Sunday saw the much anticipated Club Fixed Jack tournament, played in the friendly competitive spirit which suffuses of all our club competitions. The rain that originally threatened to put a dampner on the day eventually blew away and after many close, lively and thrilling games, Dave Beard and Trevor Francis deservedly go through to the final. An enjoyable social end to the week.

The coming week sees the ladies play Purnells and Castle Cary and the men play Norwest. Plus the Club Fours are scheduled for Saturday. A.J.Meaton
