FULL Fat Grappling Judo and Jiujitsu Club sent three athletes to the British Championships - Cody, Hannah and Daisy-Mo Hucker.

Cody Hucker (Chuck) fought on the Saturday. Unranked, with 7th place as his highest finish at the Welsh Open this year, Chuck aimed to win one fight and place 7th at a push. Taking a bye in the first round, Chuck went on to win two fights by ippon throws to reach the quarter final.

The 2nd year cadet had a 3rd year black belt cadet in the next round. Thirty-eight seconds in and it was all over, Chuck submitted his opponent with a figure of four arm lock. Chuck made it to the semi final where he once again met a third year black belt cadet. This time it was one too many. Via defeat, Chuck finish in an unbelievable 5th place from a group of 34 and has since been called up for the England Squad.

Hannah Hucker was up next. The British Schools champion faced a group of nine. Taking a bye and two wins, Hannah lost out in the final to take silver. It was a fabulous result and she was elated.

Daisy-Mo Hucker was next, fighting in a round robin. She had to win 4 straight fights to take gold. Winning three straight, the English Champion and England number 1 made it to the final, but unfortunately lost out to a JudoScotland athlete via a holddown.

Daisy-Mo, who has had an incredible year, was devastated to take silver. Judo is cruel, but she will have to dust herself back off in the new year.

Full Fat Grappling finish the year with an England number 1 and 2, British Schools Champion and multiple medalists, 3 England Squad Members, a Eurometropole Champion, one new judo 5th dan and a BJJ black belt along with numerous Judo Black Belts.
