Timsbury failed to make the most of a good batting track at Twyford House and were ultimately well beaten by six wickets in the Bristol and District League Senior Division. The Bristol side, who are hoping for a quick return to the West of England Premier League, proved too strong on the day in all departments.

After electing to bat first, Timsbury, lacking the services of inspirational opener, Mark Sage, struggled to get any kind of momentum. Jon Strand hit a breezy 28 early on, but too many wickets fell to loose shots and had it not been for a disciplined knock of 59 from Kevin Sibley, the visitors would have failed to reach 159. Home skipper, Tom Armfield, was Twyford’s most successful bowler with 4–20.

In reply, the home side lost Ross Sutton early on to the bowling of Sam Hoddinott, but a second wicket stand of 92 between Curtis Blakemore (54) and Mark Fowler (51) established a firm platform and Zoravar Singh finished it off with a quick fire undefeated 36.
