In a high-scoring game at Stowey Road, Street gained revenge for their recent Somerset Cup Final defeat by Temple Cloud.

Street batted first against a depleted Temple side, who were missing several key players. They lost three early wickets to Simon Mahoney (two) and Steve Brown (one), but this brought together skipper, Rob Hill (109), and Ashley Harris (67). They shared a 150-run partnership, giving Temple a mammoth total to chase.

Temple’s reply started badly, with Miles Hackett caught immediately for a duck. His fellow opener, Josh Reid, started slowly but then accelerated to an excellent 85, before being bowled by Andrew Bartlett. However, wickets were falling regularly at the other end, and whilst Kevin Curtis and Owen Johnson had starts, they were unable to push on to make the necessary big score in the middle order.

The tail wagged with Jason Head (33), Dan Raisbeck (twenty) and Steve Brown (23 not-out), but on their dismissal, Street gained a comfortable victory. This win confirmed Street into the second promotion position in the Somerset Premier League, whilst Temple remained in fifth position with two games to go. Temple would like to thank Automatic Choice for their valued match sponsorship. Their next match is away at Winscombe.
