THE summer may be still some way off, but Midsomer Norton Cricket Club is delighted to announce a recruitment drive for women interested in playing cricket, as the club continues to expand and strengthen its women’s cricket programme.
The club is welcoming players of all abilities – from complete beginners to experienced cricketers – to join a friendly, supportive, and ambitious environment. Whether you are new to the game, returning after time away, or looking to play competitively, Midsomer Norton Cricket Club offers opportunities for skill development, teamwork, and enjoyment of cricket.
As part of this initiative, the club will be running winter training sessions which will be starting on Monday, February 23, at Downside School from 7:00pm, providing an excellent opportunity for new and existing players to develop skills, build confidence, and prepare for the upcoming season in a structured and supportive setting.
“We’re committed to growing the women’s game and creating an inclusive environment where players can thrive both on and off the field,” said a club spokesperson. “Our winter training programme is a great way for new players to get involved and for returning players to sharpen their skills.”
Training sessions will be led by qualified coaches and focus on skill development, fitness, and enjoyment of the game. Midsomer Norton Cricket Club also offers excellent facilities and a welcoming social atmosphere.
Women of all ages (13+) are encouraged to get involved. No prior cricket experience is required – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
