Timsbury’s hopes of reaching Lords for a second time ended at North Perrott, where they were beaten by 53 runs in the county final of the Watson’s National Village Cup. Timsbury were expecting to visit Stapleton, who had beaten North Perrott in the previous round, but they were eliminated after contravening the rules.
Batting first, North Perrott largely owed their total of 196–3 to a second wicket stand of 116 between Captain, Jake Symes, who made 75 and Alex Eckland, who contributed 67. Ellis Hancock was Timsbury’s most successful bowler with 2–43.
Mark Sage got the Timsbury reply off to a rousing start with six fours in his knock of 31, but after his dismissal, the visitors’ response fell away badly as they declined to 85–7.
An eighth wicket stand of 55 between Jack Williams (36) and Sam Hoddinott (19) gave Timsbury hope, but ultimately they were well beaten. Lorraine Szczepanski bowled well to take 3–17 from her eight overs and there were two wickets each for Stacy Hawes and Eckland.
