Somer Valley Cycling Club is inviting cyclists of all abilities to take part in its annual Mendip Madness sportive on Sunday, 14th April.
This will be the seventh year the club has run the popular event, which offers the choice of either a sixty-mile (96km) or a forty-mile (64km) route over the Mendips, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Both circular routes start at Ston Easton Village Hall at 9 a.m. and take in Cheddar Gorge and the Somerset Levels. Facilities provided include refreshments at the start; feed stations end-route; fully sign-posted routes; emergency backup; free tea, coffee and cakes at the finish line; and a finisher’s certificate.
Book your place online at British Cycling, or sign-up on the day (either route). The routes are available to view on: www.somervalley.org.uk.
Event organiser, Guy Worsdall, said: “This sportive aims to take riders to parts of the Mendips that others don’t! We can’t promise great weather, but we can promise fantastic routes with panoramic views of the the best in the West, and some great cakes!”
