Vipers stepped onto court with nerves and excitement, knowing it was the last game of the season, but awaiting their fate in the league table.
Following on from a great win last week, Vipers took to the court with confidence, wanting to end the season with another team win. The first quarter saw both teams starting competitively. The defence of Andrea at GK and Laura GD intercepted many balls, so court players Zoe, Deb and Hayley could keep great possession and pass the ball to shooters Ness and Helen. This resulted in a 16–10 lead at quarter time.
Keeping the team the same, Vipers continued to take advantage. With great shooting from Sapphires, Vipers kept possession, made few mistakes and kept the lead to 27–19.
At half time, with a tactical team talk, Vipers put Becky on at GK and Andrea moved out to WD. Sapphires made a few changes too, trying to strengthen their defence. Vipers were not phased and with some great shooting, the third quarter score was 36–24.
Going into the last quarter, Vipers were determined to keep the lead. With some great support on the side lines from team mates, family and friends, Vipers kept their cool and showed continued interceptions, driving onto the ball and great team spirit. Vipers won the game 44–33.
