The changeover from POA seed to Bent Grass seed is well ahead of schedule. There will be no need to carry out any major hollow tining which has been replaced by verti drain or pencil tining. This is hugely beneficial as it has limited impact to the players on the course.

With the spectacular Platinum Celebrations still fresh in the memory, celebrating on a significantly smaller scale were the winners of the Ray Vickers Trophy. A Tennessee Waltz competition played from the yellow tee boxes.

In fourth place, with eighty five points were the trio of Phil Thompson, Laurence Barlow and Steve Mitchell. Beating them on countback were Steve Park, Dave Millington and newcomer Ian Lake all of whom had a par on the signature twelth hole. Runners up were Peter Nash, Alan Elkington and Steve Cope with eighty eight points and a significant contribution of ten points again on the twelth hole.

Winning the trophy this year with an impressive ninety points were the trio of Rob Thain, Mark Howell and Jeff Kelly. The team playing the front nine holes two over gross.
