The Wally Sage Memorial Trophy is an annual event played by the Senior Section at Farrington Park in memory of the much loved and sadly missed Wally Sage, who sadly died some nine years ago. The competition was a Bowmaker, with the best two scores to count.

His widow, Jean, continues to play at Farrington and presented the trophy to this year's winning team of Rob Thain, Richard Dancey and David Brown.

Results: First, with 94 points, Rob Thain, Richard Dancey and David Brown. Second, with 90 points, Leo Seddon, Ray Guthrie and Terry Beacham. Third, with 89 points, Bill Sims, David Elliott and Mike Swinton. Fourth, with 88 points, Brian Weeks, Eddie Cheasley and Steve Mitchell and fifth, with 86 points, Colin Robinson, Nigel Punchard and Steve Park. Nearest the Pin on the fifth, Geoff Lane, eighth, Mike Daniel, fourteenth, Steve Banfield, and fifteenth, Rob Thain. Friendly matches results: lost 4–2 away to Orchardleigh. Won 5½–½ home to Minchinhampton.

Farrington Park Ladies

Farrington Park Ladies triumphed over Wheathill Ladies to reach the Sixth Round of the Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic for the first time in the history of the club. The Farrington Park Ladies' convincing victory, by 4.5–0.5 points, now takes them into the last 64. Played at Farrington Park late in the afternoon on Sunday, 31st May, the Farrington Park Ladies and Wheathill Ladies, along with their caddies, faced a very cold, windy day.

Battling against the elements was very tiring for both teams, but a display of a high standard of competitive golf was witnessed. As the winning team made their way off the course, they were congratulated by many jubilant members of the Farrington Park Ladies Section.

39 ladies took part in the Qualifying Stableford – a Barlow Cup Qualifier on Thursday Ladies morning on 28th May. Some very good scores were recorded, with Liz Thomas coming in first, with an excellent 40 points, second was Tracey Watts, with 39 points on countback, third was Jackie Walker, also with 39 points, fourth was Claire Salter on 36 points on countback and fifth was Jane Ball, also with 36 points on countback.
