Radstock Town Reserves 2 Cutters Friday 1

A first half header and a blistering second half shot from Morgan Skipp was enough for ten men Radstock Town Reserves to defeat visitors Cutters Friday at Southfield on Saturday.

The home side worked hard to get a foot in the game and Flynn, Skipp and Rustell all had efforts dealt with by the hardworking Cutters keeper. Radstock took the lead mid-way through the half when Rustell got his head to a Skipp corner to steer the ball into the net.

Radstock made it harder for themselves when Ben Hodges was given a red card with over half an hour left on the clock, following a half-way line scuffle that came about because of a poor tackle on Nathan Flynn.

Despite being a man down, they continued to take the game to the visitors and efforts from Louis Wheeler and James Rustell were easily dealt with by the keeper.

The winning goal came on seventy-six minutes when Morgan Skipp danced past a couple of defenders before driving a blistering shot past the despairing dive of the keeper.

Cutters worked hard to force an equaliser, but their finishing was wasteful, and the home side had to work hard to defend the lead but that’s exactly what they did to claim their second win of the campaign.
