PAULTON Rovers are desperate to play their first game since their splendid 3-0 win at Clevedon Town in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League on January 3 - and first home game since the 7-1 win over Street on Boxing Day, writes Tony Walsh.

Rovers hope to finally play their Les Phillips Cup quarter final tie at home to Ivybridge Town this coming Saturday, February 14, weather permitting, kick off 3-00 p.m. This is the Jewson Western League Cup. The match sponsor is Inside Out Skips based in Paulton.

The scheduled league match at Newton Abbot based Buckland Athletic originally arranged for this coming Saturday will have to be rearranged.

The only game played in the Premier Division on Saturday, February 7, was at Newquay where the side side went down 2-0 to Buckland Athletic who remain fifth in the table still headed by Clevedon.

Next Tuesday (17/02) Rovers have another much postponed home game against Weston Super Mare at the Winterfield Stadium in the Francis Hillier Somerset Premier Cup, with the kick off at 7-30 p.m.

On Tuesday, February 24 the third planned home game on the trot sees Buckland as visitors to North East Somerset. This match will be sponsored by Cinch Self Storage who are about to open their new facilities at Old Mills Estate in Paulton.

Paulton Rovers U18s are at home on Thursday (12/02) to Portishead Town, kick off 7-30 p.m.

Along with many football clubs who have seen the weather decimate games, Paulton make a plea asking for extra support from the community to come along to matches. Despite having so many games called off Paulton sit third in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League as they strive for promotion.
