Former Arsenal midfielder and England international footballer, Ray Parlour, is set to visit Midsomer Norton as Welton Rovers Football Club host their third annual sporting dinner on Friday, 4th November.

Parlour, who won ten caps for England and made over 500 professional appearances in his career, is best known for his role in Arsenal’s famous unbeaten ‘Invincibles’ side of the 2003–2004 Premier Division season. Having recently released his autobiography, The Romford Pelé to critical acclaim, an evening with Ray Parlour, a footballer who bridged the gap between the hard-drinking Arsenal side of the George Graham era and Arsene Wenger’s more enlightened team, promises to be one of great laughs and insight.

Liverpool’s Jan Molby and Manchester United’s Lee Sharpe have been Welton Rovers’ guests in previous years, with Parlour arguably the club’s biggest coup so far.

The rest of the evening’s entertainment will consist of stand-up comedy from nationally touring comedian Bob Webb, as well as a raffle of high quality prizes and a sporting memorabilia auction with signed goods from some of the biggest names in sport to raise money for the club.
