To date, almost 90,000 participants have voiced their opinions on the grassroots football provision in their local area and helped to inform the allocation of investment and resources by The FA and County FAs.
Since the last grassroots Football Survey, Somerset FA have devised a new three-year County delivery strategy and a Marketing and Communications improvement plan, which is available on their website. They have made great strides to act upon the feedback from last year, improving a number of processes, launching a brand new website, which is now fully responsive to a range of devices, and trialing out-of-hours governance services for our volunteers.
Jon Pike, Chief Executive of Somerset FA, said: “We value the feedback from everyone involved in football, whatever their capacity, from across our county. We use the FA Grassroots Football Survey results and our own consultation exercises across the season to directly influence our delivery.
“This season we have acted on the issues and ideas expressed in previous years, particularly around the quality of pitches and the formats of football available to our participants. We are launching a new, flexible 9-v-9 league in Weston-super-Mare, and we are also launching a new Futsal League in Yeovil, to accompany last season’s League in Taunton. We have several funding posts available to clubs in order to grow their provision, ranging from mini soccer teams to adult male teams.
“To save all football participants in the county money, we have a number of partnership agreements which offer clubs, league, players and referees a discount on a variety of football-related products and services. A number of these are new for this season, and more information about all of these is available on our website.
“We hope that participants across Somerset can see the positive impacts that their responses have, and we really encourage everyone to complete this year’s survey to highlight even more great ideas and initiatives for next season.”
The survey is open until Monday, 5th November, and can be completed online: www.somersetfa.com
