A young Chilcompton football team is looking forward to a new season and a brand new kit, thanks to a sponsorship deal.

Chilcompton Sport Under-10s, made up of nine local players, were delighted to receive funding from Midsomer Norton print company, Bristol Business Forms, and are looking forward to starting the season with their new kit, plus two new players.

The team had a difficult 2019/20 season due to low player numbers, Covid-19 restrictions and extreme weather conditions, meaning they only played eight league matches overall. The team have been training hard and looking forward to their first match of the new season, which was due to take place last weekend.

“It has been a tough year for the team, so we are thrilled to receive this support from Bristol Business Forms, which means we can invest in new kit for our players,” said parent, Hayley Blanning.

“The team can’t wait to start playing competitively again. We are still looking for a coach and always welcome new players, so please get in touch with us if you would like to know more about the team.”

Mark, from Bristol Business Forms, said: “As part of our commitment to the local community, myself and Lewis were pleased to be asked to sponsor Chilcompton Sport Under-10s.

“We wish the team every success in the new season and look forward to attending some of their local games.”

Chilcompton Sport Under-10s put out a call last year to find an FA Coaching Level One or above qualified Coach, or someone who is willing and able to undertake the FA coaching course. This would be a voluntary role, but there is funding to help towards the cost of the course.

If anyone is interested in applying for the role, or would like to find out more, they can contact Hayley on: 07841 585289.
