PAULTON Rovers Under 18s travelled to Cheddar with a place in the quarter final of the Roger Stone Memorial Cup at stake - and gained a 3-1 success.

Rovers took the lead after 17 minutes when Luke Mavridis’ shot was tipped onto the post by the Cheddar goalkeeper and he made no mistake second time around.

Paulton soon doubled their lead through Alistair Wach who, after some nifty footwork, finished with his left foot into the far top corner in style!

Despite the visitors maintaining control of the ball and dominating the majority of the first half they were caught out by Cheddar who pulled one back in the 35th minute. The game became more open in the second half with Cheddar gaining more possession. However, against the run of play, Paulton countered through Wroe who did very well down the left before finding Mavridis who grabbed his second of the night, making it 3-1.
