On Saturday, Wessex, from the Second Division, overcame Premier Division side, Radstock Town A, 1-0 in the Charity Cup, while in the Morland Cup, Belrose beat Stoke Rovers seven goals to five.
In the Premier Division, Frome Collegians scrapped through 3-2 against Coleford Athletic, with Jack Davis scoring a brace for Coleford. Peasedown Albion moved to the top of the League with an 8-0 demolition of Victoria Sports; the Peasedown goals coming from Rico Sobers (2) Scott Baker, Hayden Campbell, Craig Dowling, Tom Woodland and Seviour brothers, Kris and Stuart.
In the First Division, bottom team, Meadow Rangers, had a rare victory, 3-2, against promotion-chasing Timsbury Athletic Reserves.
Weston FC and Farrington Gurney both secured victories in the Second Division.
The promotion clash between Frome Collegians Reserves and Mendip Rangers finished all-square at 2-2. Peasedown Albion A notched six against Charlton United, and Chilcompton United had a narrow 1-0 win versus Evercreech Rovers Reserves.
This coming Friday, 12th April at Shepton Mallet FC, Belrose take on Coleford Athletic Reserves for the Tony Baxter Shield, with both sides aiming for promotion – a tight game is expected.
