Coleford really are having a great season – last Saturday they won at Chilcompton Reserves, 2–1. Netting the goals for the side were Curt Mcinerney and Charlie Walton to get into the Final of the Paulton Hospital Cup, where they will come up against Peasedown Albion on Good Friday morning, kick-off 11 a.m. at Paulton Rovers.
Coleford Reserves put up a great fight against Bath Villa in the league’s first Cup Final of the season at Radstock Town’s ground last Friday; the Bath team, who are in the Final of the Somerset Intermediate Cup Final, had to wait until the second half to score the two goals to win 2–0 to lift their first trophy of the year.
After losing two Semi-Finals in two weeks, Victoria came out fighting against Frome Collegians in the Semi-Final of the Charity Cup and made it through to the Final. With goals from Rob Turner and John Hampton, they will meet Westfield Reserves in the Final at Shepton Mallet on Friday, 7th April, kick-off at 7.30 p.m.
In the Premier League, Westfield are keeping the pressure on the chasing pack for the runners-up spot by beating Temple Cloud away, 3–0, with goals from Hucker, Garner and Mclachlan.
Radstock A lost some ground, drawing 3–3 at Wells A; they are now two points behind Westfield, having played a game more.
High Littleton secured their second win of the season in the First Division, winning away at Chew Magna Reserves, 2–1. Westhill go into second place in the league, winning 8–2 away to Clutton Reserves and Belrose won 1–0 away to Pilton.
The surprise result of the day was Evercreech’s win at home in the Second Division, winning 11–2 against second placed Somer Valley and taking them within touching distance of the promotion places. Mells Reserves had a good home result against Glastonbury Reserves, winning 6–1 and Westhill Reserves played out a 2–2 draw with Frome Town Sports Reserves.
In the Third Division, Peasedown Albion Reserves are not letting up on their quest to win the league, beating Chilcompton United 7–1 with goals from Aaron Vine (2), Henry Steeds (2), Dan Hucker, Jack Hemmings and Olly Neech. They are three points clear with two games in hand.
Two of the chasing teams also won – Old Crown, beating Farrington Reserves at home, 6–1 and Timsbury Reserves, who went away to Purnell A and won 3–0. It is going to be an exciting run-up to the end of the season, with four teams vying for the promotion spot.
