Chilcompton Sports Youth Under-14s football team have a new strip for the season, with new sponsorship announced by Newland Homes.

Chilcompton Under-14s play in the Mid-Wiltshire Youth and Minor Football League, and last year, took home the Somerset County Cup, as well as coming third in the League. With the new season already seeing a strong start, the team, under the management and coaching of Brendon Andrews, Conrad Maggs and Damien Carpenter, are hoping to rise up the table even further this year.

The team is made up of young footballers from Chilcompton, Midsomer Norton, Radstock and Wells and plays across Somerset and Wiltshire each weekend, with regular training sessions through the week. The team’s players are Ioan, Louis, Finley, Danny, Bradley, Myles, Harvey, Lloyd, Fletcher, William, Ryan and Daniel.

Brendon said: “We are really looking forward to this season and the challenges that lie ahead. We always set ourselves high standards, and this season is no different, with our aim to win the league and to get to both the league and County Cup Finals.

“This is a big challenge, but setting our sights any lower wouldn’t do our fantastic team justice. Winning the County Cup last season was really special for everyone involved with our team, players, coaches and parents alike, and was a great way to make up for the disappointment of losing in the League Cup final only two weeks prior.

“We are all incredibly grateful to Newland Homes for sponsoring our lovely new kit, and hopefully, it will grace a couple of Cup Final programmes, and maybe even a league winners’ photo at the end of the season!”

Gail Remnant, Associate Sales Director for Newland Homes, added: “Somerset and Wiltshire are areas where we have built new homes for over quarter of a century. One of our aims with each development is to enhance the community, and supporting these young people to be proud to represent their area in the sporting League and to always do their best is something we hope will have knock-on effects for a long time.

“We can’t wait to see Chilcompton Under-14s take the League Cup, as well as the County Cup again, this season.”
