PAULTON Rovers drew 2-2 away to Thornbury in their first pre-season friendly, while Paulton Rovers Sports won 6-1 at Bishop Sutton, writes Tony Walsh.

This Friday (July 10) the only pre season home friendly sees Chippenham Town of the Southern League Premier South Division provide the opposition (7.30p.m, tickets on sale at the bar).

Then on Monday (July 13) it’s an away trip to Almondsbury, kick off 7-45 p.m. followed on Friday (July 17) with a trip to Wells City, kick off 7-30 p.m, Season tickets are on sale at the bar.

As the Southern League Division fixtures are awaited, draws have been made for the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

In the FA Cup Rovers are home in the extra preliminary round to Gosport based side Fleetlands on Saturday, 8 August, with the winners home to Hampshire sides Yateley or Alton on Saturday, 22 August.

In the FA Trophy preliminary round it’s home to Slimbridge on 15 August with the winners away to Swindon Supermarine on 29 August.
