Paulton rode their first half luck as Cinderford pressed in the early stages, going ahead on thirteen minutes as Lewis Binns’ free-kick from deep was headed home by Richard Greaves.

The Foresters then twice hit the post through Craig Norman and Ian McDonald, with keeper Rob Brown beaten.

Rovers’ skipper, Dale Evans, set up Sam Jordan, whose shot was well-saved by Alex Harris. On 39 minutes, Ben Withey levelled with a well-struck free-kick deflected into the net.

Cinderford went ahead on 53 minutes, as a loose ball found Greaves, who hammered the ball past Brown. Paulton threatened, with Liam Monelle and substitute, Jay Malpas, combining, and Ryan Gay saw his shot narrowly wide.

On 79 minutes, Greaves headed home his hat-trick from a deep cross on the right from Sam Turl. Late on, Craig Norman was stopped by a last ditch Sam Hedges tackle to prevent a further score. Star Man of the Match: Richard Greaves, Cinderford Town.

This Saturday, 25th August, Rovers travel to Bradford Town, Wiltshire, for the preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup; kick-off 3 p.m.
