PAULTON ROVERS 4 v 1 MELKSHAM TOWN

Paulton Rovers won their last preseason friendly against Melksham Town this week.

After an even first half in pouring rain, Rovers took the lead on the stroke of half-time as Kailan Gould swivelled and turned the Melksham defence to hammer a drive past Rob Brown in the visitors’ goal.

On 56 minutes, Sol Wheatley outpced the defender down the right and his low cross was hammered home by Reeko Best.

It was 3-0 after seventy three minutes, as Gould and Jordan Ricketts built a move down the left and Gould thumped home a cracking shot past Brown.

On 80 minutes, Ricketts was fouled and the free kick 20 yards out was taken by Will Hailstone and a slight deflection took the ball past Brown for 4-0.

Three minutes later, Melksham pulled a goal back as a cross by Callum Dinkin was headed home low by George Pawley.
