Saturday, 26th September saw the return of Paulton Rovers FC Reserves to Winterfield Road for their first Mid-Somerset Football League fixture of the season against Glastonbury Reserves, which ended in a 3–1 victory for Paulton.

After the disappointment of not being promoted to the Second Division after the season was abandoned due to COVID-19, Paulton Rovers FC Reserves are hoping for a better performance this year and the season couldn’t have gotten off to a better start.

Paulton started well with an early goal from Paul Gray, only to lose some pace later in the game and concede a goal to the determined Glastonbury side, making it one a piece.

The second half saw a change in fortune for the Paulton side and after a sluggish start, an impressive strike came from Gray that gave the team the boost they needed to get back in front.

Now at 2–1, the rest of the game was hard fought by both sides, but that didn’t stop Gray making it a hat trick, with another excellent strike hitting the back of the net.

The game finished 3–1 to the home side, with Paul Gray being named Man of the Match.

Joining the Reserves team as the latest Manager is Andrei Catalin, who is a qualified FA Coach, with a vast amount of experience in football coaching and development. Andrei has worked with Cardiff City ADC and Bristol City Development Centre, as well as many other academies, regional talent centres, college teams and grassroots football.
