PAULTON ROVERS U18s 1 BRISLINGTON U18s 3
Paulton disappointedly went out of the FA Cup after being hit by three very early goals from the visitors.
In the third minute, Brislington Captain, Jayden Nelson, headed home a free-kick taken by Taylor
Kissack. A neat one-two on the counter by Blaine Lawrence and Jake Curtis saw a shot from the former held by Ben Payter.
Brislington made it 2-0 on ten minutes after Rovers’ keeper, Sean Salter, had saved from Jay Bray. In the follow-up, Joe Thorn chipped the ball over Salter into the net.
Two minutes later it was 3-0 as a long-ball saw Bray looking yards offside to face on and score, and the goal stood despite protests.
As Paulton improved, Lawrence, Curtis and Archie Blacker all saw chances held by Payter.
The second half saw Rovers much more potent and Payter was much the busier keeper, again saving from Lawrence and Curtis and tipping Blacker’s low-shot for a corner. Paulton did score on 57 minutes, as the impressive Ali Sen dribbled past three defender to plant a fierce shot past Payter.
Rovers piled on the pressure as Mason Harrison shot wide and Payter saved from Lucas Hawkins and Sen. As Paulton pushed forward, Brislington had a great chance to add to the score, but had to answer to Salter, saving from Nelson and Reagan Gazzard.
The Reserves won 3-2 against Chilcompton Sports A on Saturday and played Chilcompton Sports Reserves in the League Cup at home on Tuesday.
