Last Wednesday, Peasedown Albion Over-50s Walking Football team travelled to play Cheddar Over-50s in a friendly.

Peasedown found it difficult at first, playing on Astro Turf and a much bigger pitch than normal. The first half saw Cheddar attack from the start and score twice. Albion’s first goal came from ex-pro, Paul Randall, and five minutes later, by Keith Hopper. However, the visitors looked dangerous on the attack and had a lot of possession.

The second half saw determined defence by Cheddar against a flow of good shots from Peasedown, but Albion were unable to score.

The game was played in a competitive, but friendly manner throughout. After the game Peasedown were treated to food and drinks at the Cider Barn, sponsors of the Cheddar Team. Final Score was 2–0 to Cheddar, and both Peasedown and Cheddar are now looking forward to the return match at Peasedown St John.

Peasedown Albion train on a Tuesday night from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Norton Hill School. Anyone interested, contact Mike Gregory on: 07710 402588.
