RADSTOCK TOWN 2 PAULTON ROVERS 6

Paulton Rovers had a shaky start to the match on Wednesday evening, with Radstock Town taking a third minute lead as Jack Witcombe out jumped keeper, Ed Baldy, to head the Miners home.

Rovers levelled on twenty minutes after striker, Lamar Power, headed the ball on and Kailan Gould outpaced the home defence to score across Billy Garrett in the Town goal.

They went ahead after 35 minutes, as Gould broke down the left and found Alan Mahmoud, whose cross from the left was headed home by Powell.

Three minutes later, a superb individual run by Gould saw him shoot home to make it 3-1 at the break.

From the start, in the second half, Radstock pulled one back as Lee Rusty finished well from Josh Witcombe’s corner.

In the fiftieth minute, Rovers made it 4-2 when Reeko Best broke down the left and fired a firm, low shot from 25 yards out.

On seventy minutes, Cory Rawlings, who has stepped up with Gould from the youth team, hit a centre shot which sailed over Garrett for what even he acknowledged was a fluke goal.

Paulton made it 6-2, as Ibs Diallo cracked a low drive past Garrett, well outside the box.

Radstock played well at times and Simon Millard had several chances and was a constant thorn in Rovers’ defence.
